
At the ‘Shehyni-Medyka’ checkpoint, customs officers discovered undeclared funds on a resident of Lviv.
During the inspection of the belongings of the 46-year-old man who was traveling to Poland, 30,700 dollars and 8,200 euros were found. These funds were not declared, and their total amount at the NBU exchange rate on September 1 amounts to nearly 1.7 million hryvnias.
At the same time, during customs control through the ‘red corridor’, the citizen declared 39,300 US dollars and 41,800 euros, which in hryvnia equivalent amounts to over 3.6 million hryvnias.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the man according to part 1 of article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine (CCU). The declared currency values were returned to him, while the dollars and euros, whose origin is not confirmed by documents, were temporarily seized pending resolution of the case in legal order.
