Nominees Announced for the Ivan Franko International Prize

The International Expert Council has selected three nominees for the Ivan Franko International Prize for 2025.

The Council included 29 experts from Austria, Poland, Slovakia, and Ukraine. The experts evaluated the works based on criteria of innovation, conceptuality, and international research level. “The nominations include high-quality works that received the highest scores,” noted the jury.

Among the nominees are: Andriy Danylenko with a monograph on the Ukrainian literary language; a collective work ‘Land of Salt and Oil’; Ihor Nabytehovych with a book on the historical prose of Ukrainian emigration.

The laureate will be announced on August 27 in Drohobych during a ceremonial event. The prize is established to support scientific research on the works of the Kameniar. This year’s competition started in January and accepted submissions from scholars worldwide until March.
