In Lviv, the Lviv Regional Centre for Environmental and Naturalist Creativity of School Youth, together with the Lviv City Children’s Environmental and Naturalist Centre, has launched a charitable project entitled «Unit “Woof!”». As part of the initiative, service dogs will be trained to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service and the National Guard of Ukraine.
The first participant in the project is a female English Springer Spaniel puppy named Alma. A special enclosure has been set up for her at the regional environmental and naturalist centre. Pupils of the institution, together with their teachers, will look after the dog and teach her the basic skills required before further professional training.
The centre stresses that anyone interested can take part in the project. People are invited to support the initiative through volunteering, donating dog food or making financial contributions.
