In Lviv, remote monitoring of backup power for traffic lights has been implemented, allowing for their stable operation even during potential power outages. LKP “Lvivavtodor” is installing special Wi-Fi modules for remote control of the power units’ status.
Currently, 149 units ensure the operation of all 175 traffic light objects, covering approximately 2,500 traffic lights. Of these, 100 units have already been connected to the remote monitoring system, enabling specialists to see the battery charge level and track operational stability in real-time.
“We are gradually connecting all backup power units to the remote monitoring system. This approach allows us to ensure the stable and reliable operation of traffic lights even during power outages,” stated the director of LKP “Lvivavtodor” Mykola Vlasiuk.
Thanks to the replacement of old equipment with modern technology, over 85% of the city’s traffic lights can now be managed online.
