Solar-Powered Benches Installed in Lviv

On the streets of Lviv, benches equipped with solar panels have appeared. This innovation allows city residents to charge phones or other gadgets while simply relaxing on the benches. A total of 13 modern benches have been installed across three locations.

According to the Halytsky District Administration, these benches are placed in the following locations:

  • Bernardine Square – 6 units;
  • Franko Square – 5 units;
  • Chornovola Avenue, 4 – 2 units.

The locations for installation were chosen based on pedestrian traffic. For instance, Franko Square offers the opportunity to transfer to trams, and there is a market nearby, making it a very busy area. Chornovola Avenue has a large office complex nearby, and the square near the Bernardine Monastery has been recently landscaped for recreation.

This project, supported by the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation, was implemented in collaboration with the public organisation ‘Ecoclub’ and with the support of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine.
