On January 17, an exciting match of the Ukrainian Children’s Volleyball League among girls born in 2011 took place in the village of Sheptytskyi. The teams DYuSSh No. 1 Sheptytskyi and “Sokoliany-Danish Textiles” from Sokal met in a fierce and emotional showdown.
The game kept fans on edge, with the result determined only in the fifth set. A key moment occurred in the second set, when the Sokal team managed to turn the tide of the game — trailing 21:24, they made a comeback and won the set 26:24. Displaying resilience and skill, “Sokoliany” claimed victory with a final score of 3:2.
This is not the first successful performance of Sokal’s volleyball players against Sheptytskyi. Earlier in the 2025/2026 season, in the Lviv Region Children’s League, the Sokal team of 2009-born girls also confidently beat Sheptytskyi’s squad 3:0.
These results confirm the rapid development of girls’ volleyball in Sokal, which is now outperforming the traditionally strong Sheptytskyi school in several age categories.
