The Sambo World Cup stage held in Larnaca, Cyprus, gathered 120 athletes from 10 countries. Ukraine’s national team delivered an outstanding performance, securing a total of 25 medals — 24 gold and 1 silver.
Among the gold medalists was Rostyslav Horychyi from Lviv. He triumphed in the youth 64 kg weight category, showcasing excellent technique, determination, and fighting spirit.
Rostyslav trains at the Yuriy Kutenko Youth Sports School. His coaches, Oleh Hasyuk and Roman Shmilo, have been preparing him for competition over the years. This was confirmed by Roman Khimiak, head of the Department of Sports, Youth, and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
