On Thursday, September 28, the Judo Championship of Ukraine among junior cadets up to 17 years of age will begin in the Lviv Region.
About 400 judokas from all regions of Ukraine will take part in the competition. Athletes aged 14-16 will compete in 17 weight categories. The competition will take place at the Emily Sport Arena.
“Holding the national judo championship is not just a competition, but also an embodiment of the fighting spirit that is growing in our athletes. It is a holiday that allows athletes to demonstrate their skills, aspirations for high achievements and the best sports values. We are glad that it is the honor of Lviv region to host such a holiday,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the youth and sports department of the Lviv OVA.
Thursday is the day the teams arrive. Already on Friday, September 29, the best among cadets will be determined in the weight categories of 46 kg, 50 kg, 55 kg, 60 kg, and for female cadets – 40 kg, 44 kg, 48 kg, 52 kg, 57 kg. On Saturday, the winners will be determined in the weight categories 66 kg, 73 kg, 81 kg, 90 kg, +90 kg among cadets, and 63 kg, 70 kg, +70 kg among cadets.
Based on the results of the competition, the composition of the national judo team of Ukraine will be formed to participate in the European Championship among cadets under 18 years of age.
