In the Lviv region, 77 athletes and 66 coaches received cash awards for successful performances at international and national competitions in the second quarter of this year. This was reported by the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
Representatives of 13 sports were recognised: freestyle wrestling, cycling, athletics, sports acrobatics, swimming, fencing, shooting, modern pentathlon, triathlon, boxing, rhythmic gymnastics, canoe sprint and water polo.
The total amount of payments is almost 1.4 million UAH. Of this, 921 thousand UAH was allocated to athletes, and 460.5 thousand UAH to coaches.
The Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration emphasises that behind every result lies daily work and professional training.
“Behind every medal and sporting result there is the daily work, discipline and perseverance of the athletes, as well as the extensive efforts of their coaches. That is why it is important for us not only to celebrate victories, but also to support those who achieve them and help make them possible. These payments are a token of gratitude to the athletes and coaches of the Lviv region for their work and their contribution to the development of sport in the region,” said the Director of the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Roman Khimyak.
