Anton Dukach won bronze at the Luge Nations Cup in Latvia
The 28-year-old athlete from Lviv region competed in the single-seater luge and finished third with a time of 48.595 seconds.
Only two athletes managed to show a better result: the host of the competition, Gints Berzins (48.136 seconds) and Swede Svante Kohala (48.535 seconds).
“Anton Dukach is showing very good results this season. This is the athlete’s third award in the 2023/24 Nations Cup. Previously, he also won bronze at the Whistler and Oberhof stages. It is also worth mentioning that this month Dukach demonstrated a historic result for Ukraine at the World Championships – he finished in 12th place in the single luge,” said Roman Khimyak, Head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
Anton Dukach represents the Lviv Regional School of Higher Sportsmanship at the competition. The athlete is coached by Taras Hartsula, Ivan Baik and Oleh Zherebetskyi.
