Yesterday, November 27, the championship of Ukraine in freestyle wrestling among male and female cadets ended in Kyiv.
For these competitions, the Youth and Sports Department of Lviv Oblast sent a national team of the region consisting of 23 athletes under the age of 17.
Iryna Borysyuk in the weight category up to 61 kg and Daryna Zaishla in the weight category up to 65 kg became the champions of Ukraine. Iryna is trained by Oleksandr Rakovsky, and Darina is trained by Orest Skobelsky.
Among the cadets, Pavlo Vaskovskyi, a pupil of the “Veslyarik” Specialized Children’s and Youth Sports School, became the champions in the weight category up to 92 kg, sports college wrestlers Yehor Horokh in the category up to 80 kg and Dmytro Danylyuk in the category up to 71 kg. Pavel is coached by Taras Pytlyuk and Igor Duh, Yehor by Serhiy Slyusarenko, and Dmytro by Viktor Hlibenko.
The silver medalists were students of the College of Sports Roman Kulakivskyi in the weight category up to 48 kg, Ivan Sidei in the category up to 80 kg and Vladyslav Stepchuk in the category up to 110 kg. Roman is trained by Serhii Slyusarenko, and Ivan and Vladyslav are trained by Viktor Hlibenko.
Maria Nemish in the weight category up to 53 kg and Nadiya Sokolovska in the category up to 73 kg became the bronze medalists of the competition. The athlete is coached by Oleksandr Rakovsky. Artem Ovsyuk in the weight category up to 55 kg and Ruslan Kit in the category up to 60 kg took third place among cadets. The boys are coached by Serhii Slyusarenko. All bronze medalists master wrestling at the Lviv Professional College of Sports.
According to preliminary data, the wrestlers of the Lviv Oblast won the first place in the overall team standings, and the wrestlers won the second place. Also, 5 sportsmen fulfilled the standards of masters of sports.
In a few days, the wrestlers of the Lviv region will be waiting for new competitions – the regional team consisting of 20 athletes and 4 coaches will go to the final competitions of this year in their sport – the Cup of Ukraine in freestyle wrestling among men and women, dedicated to the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine.
