Yulia Biryukova from Chervonohrad took part in the individual race at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris today

At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the 32.4 km individual road race with a separate start among women has just ended.

This was reported to the Holos Sokliyny by the NOC of Ukraine in the Lviv region.

The only Ukrainian, a representative of Lviv region, Yulia Biriukova, covered the distance with a time of 44:43.73 and finished in 27th place. The gap between her and the winner, Australian Grace Brown, was 5:05.49.

We have already reported that Yulia Biriukova from Chervonohrad won the right to participate in the Olympic Games at the Ukrainian Championships.

We would like to add that due to the rain, Yulia fell on one of the sections, breaking her elbow, but got up and managed to finish.

The cyclist’s comment: “It’s very wet, I fell. Today was really not my day. I’m a little bit upset because the wheels didn’t hold on the corners at all. I had to go through the turn slowly, plus I lost a lot of money because of the fall. It’s quite hard, everything is broken, everything hurts. We will adjust to the group. Were there any other injuries during the fall? Now it’s still adrenaline, then later it will be felt. So far, everything hurts, but I hope it’s nothing serious.”

Olympic debutant Yulia Biryukova, 26, will take part in the group time trial on August 4.

She is a graduate of the Chervonohrad Cycling School (first coach: Viacheslav Rudko) and is currently coached by Dmytro Kryvtsov and Orest Tychko.
