
Athletes from Drohobych secured prize places at the Ukrainian Wushu Cup finals.
From November 28 to 30, the finals of the Ukrainian Wushu Cup took place in Brovary, Kyiv region. Participants from the Drohobych community impressed with their skill and sportsmanship. Matviy Yakubiv became the champion in two categories and also took third place. Marko Yavir secured second place in long weapon and third in short weapon. The athletes’ coach is Serhiy Ovcharenko.
In the under-8 category, Matviy Machyshyn took third place under the guidance of coach Veronika Kliuchak. The 15-17 age category brought victories to Volodymyr Kunytskyi, who won the non-armed complex and claimed silver in long weapon as well as bronze in short weapon.
This experience not only boosted the athletes’ confidence but also motivates them towards new achievements. Coaches Veronika Kliuchak, Serhiy Ovcharenko, and the President of the Wushu Federation of the Lviv region, Oksana Sotrykhina, contributed to the team’s preparation.
