In early December, Stockholm, Sweden, hosted the “Nordic Open Wushu Championship,” an international tournament that brought together 415 athletes from 17 countries. Competitors showcased their skills in various disciplines: taolu (exercise routines), sanda (contact fights), tuishou (light contact), bingdao (sword fights), and traditional wushu.
Drohobych was proudly represented at the prestigious event by Maksym Kuzmych and Kyrylo Suprunenko, who returned home with medals.
- Kyrylo Suprunenko competed in three disciplines, earning two silver and one bronze medals.
- Maksym Kuzmych participated in two categories and secured two bronze medals.
The tournament took place in a large exhibition hall, which also hosted a sports festival featuring events in judo, karate, jiu-jitsu, kendo, calisthenics, arm wrestling, and other sports.
For Drohobych athletes, the competition was not only an opportunity to showcase their skills but also a chance to learn about different martial arts techniques and styles from athletes worldwide.
