Two wrestlers from the Lviv region – 19-year-old Manola Skobelska and 18-year-old Oleksandra Khomenets – immediately became European champions in freestyle wrestling among juniors.
The final matches of the continental championship among under-20 women’s wrestlers are held in Italy.
Manola Skobelska, a 19-year-old master of sports of Ukraine of international class, who studies at the Lviv Professional College of Sports, won a gold medal in the 65 kg weight category. She defeated an athlete from Hungary with a score of 7-0. Orest Skobelsky trains the athlete.
Also, 18-year-old wrestler Oleksandra Khomenets won gold in the 57 kg weight category. In the final, the athlete defeated the representative of Italy with a score of 4-1. Oleksandra is a master of sports of Ukraine of international class, a graduate of the Lviv Professional College of Sports Oleksandra Khomenets. The athlete is trained by Orest Skobelsky and Andriy Byrka. This year, the athlete from Truskavets became the vice-champion of Europe among adults. Last year in July, Oleksandra also became the European champion among juniors.
We will remind that in April of this year Oleksandra Khomenets from Truskavets became the silver medalist of the European Championship in wrestling in the weight category up to 55 kg.
