Lviv Fencers Triumph at the Ukrainian Youth Championship
The Ukrainian Youth Championship in épée fencing took place in the capital and gathered almost 150 participants from various cities across Ukraine.
Individual Competitions
In individual épée competitions, athletes from Lviv region won the following awards:
- 🥇 1st place – Alina Dmytruk (School of Higher Sports Mastery, coaches Andriy Orlikovsky, Zoryana Semeryak)
- 🥈 2nd place – Anna Maksymenko (School of Higher Sports Mastery, Sports Society “Dynamo”, coaches Andriy Orlikovsky, Zoryana Semeryak)
- 🥉 3rd place – Anatoliy Savka (Youth Sports School named after O. Demyanuk, coach Roman Zadorozhny)
Team Competitions
Medals in team épée competitions:
- 1st place – team “Lviv 1”:

“It is gratifying that our fencers win medals at practically every competition they participate in. Just two weeks ago, Anna Maksymenko and Alina Dmytruk became European champions. This testifies to the strong fencing school in the Lviv region. Great thanks go not only to the athletes but also to their coaches,” said Roman Khimyak, head of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
