The Drohobych Futsal Championship, which lasted four months, has concluded. Teams from various parts of Drohobych competed, providing fans with vibrant emotions.
The final showdown took place between this year’s champion FC “Graphite” and the silver medallist “Barca” from Mykhailovychi. The match began with a minute’s silence in honour of the fallen Heroes of Ukraine.
The futsal players from Mykhailovychi put up a fight against the experienced opponent but were defeated. Andriy Kihichak’s team claimed the Cup and the Championship awards for the 2025/26 season.
After the match, the best players were awarded. The prize winners were congratulated by Deputy Mayor Yuriy Kushlyk, Head of the Sports Department Oleksandr Zolochevskyi, and Head of the Football Association Stepan Luzhetskyi.
This year’s championship was challenging due to power outages and lack of heating. However, the love for football energised the participants.
Teams competed in three leagues: super, top, and first. FC Graphite won the super league, FC Truskavets City the first league, and FC Bystry the second.
Individual prizes were awarded to the best scorers and versatile players. The organisers thank the Head of the Education Department Petro Shevyak and the Director of the Boberskyi Youth Sports School Mykhailo Horodynskyi for providing the sports facilities.
