
Karateka Roman-Ivan Markiv from the Peremyshliany community has claimed the title of European kyokushin karate champion among juniors. The continental championships for juniors and adults took place in May in Batumi (Georgia).
Markiv took first place in the junior competition, becoming the first European kyokushin karate champion to represent the Peremyshliany territorial community.
The athlete hails from the Peremyshliany TC, competes for SC «Kanku-Lviv» and trains under the guidance of Ruslan Zhukov. In the Peremyshliany community they note that his success demonstrates that it is possible to achieve high sporting results even while developing in small localities.
During the unveiling of a bronze tactile mini-sculpture of the monastic complex at the Holy Dormition Univ Lavra, Roman-Ivan Markiv and his coach were presented with letters of appreciation for their sporting achievements.
