From 1 to 4 October, Khmelnytskyi hosted the WAKO Ukrainian Cup in kickboxing among adults and a national tournament, which brought together representatives of 18 regions of Ukraine — in total around 600 athletes. Lviv Region was represented at these events by three teams whose athletes collected a significant number of awards.
Our region at the competitions was represented by the team of the A. Bilyi Youth Sports School (which included athletes from SC “Zolotyi Lev”, SC “Olimp” and SC “Alpha Team”), as well as teams from Stryi — BC “BRO za BRO” and BC “Khanuman”.
Sports club “Zolotyi Lev” distinguished itself both at the Ukrainian Cup among adults and at the national tournament. In the adult Ukrainian Cup, Oleksandr Boltyshev took first place, while Oles Chudovskyi twice became a silver medallist, claiming two second places.
At the national competitions, athletes from this club achieved the following results: Oleksii Shaposhnikov — first place, Maksym Arbuzov — second place, Yevheniia Frolova — a full set of medals (first, second and third places). Darina Bakai took first place, Markiian Voloshyn — second and third, Volodymyr Blinov — third, Emiliien Vysotskyi — first, Marko Yatsynych — third. Anastasiia Bubnova claimed first and third places, Denys Hrinchenko — first and third, Andrii Haida — second, and Marko Ocherklevych — first and second places.
SC “Olimp” fielded Danylo Yunyk at the national competitions, where he took third place.
SC “Alpha Team” also enjoyed success both in the programme of the Ukrainian Cup among adults and at the national tournament. In the adult Ukrainian Cup, Anastasiia Yavorska twice reached the top step of the podium, securing two first places. At the national competitions, Orest Toropa won silver, while Yuliana Shushpanova took second and third places.
Boxing club “BRO za BRO” from Stryi also added to Lviv Region’s medal tally. In the Ukrainian Cup among adults, Sviatoslav Hasiuk took first place, and Nazar Nakonechnyi — second. At the national competitions, Ivan Ratych became a silver medallist, while Danylo Fedyshyn, Andrii Vilshanetskyi and Ostap Nakonechnyi each secured third place.
BC “Khanuman” from Stryi also stood out with a number of awards. In the Ukrainian Cup among adults, Iryna Aizenbart took second place. At the national competitions, bronze medals were won by Artem Chornobai, Luka Alekseev, Matvii Polianchych, Ihor Kiliakov, Pavlo Hrebeniak and Kyrylo Berezhnyi. Silver medallists were Marko Matkivskyi and Tamerlan Fendyk.
The organisers and representatives of Lviv Region noted the high standard of the athletes’ preparation and thanked the coaches for their effective work with the region’s teams.
