Lviv Region became the venue for the Ukrainian Cup in Thai boxing, dedicated to the memory of soldiers from the special unit GUR MOU ‘Artan’.
From October 9 to 12, the sports competitions for Muay Thai boxing and the open all-Ukrainian tournament ‘Artan Cup’ took place at the training and sports complex of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. These competitions were dedicated to the heroes of Ukraine’s legendary military intelligence unit — ‘Artan’. **’Artan’** became a symbol of courage, conducting raids in occupied Enerhodar and operations on the ‘Boyko Towers’.
_”I had the honor of personally meeting Lieutenant Colonel Torkotyuk and standing next to those who combined sports with service. The atmosphere was special: it was both a celebration of sports and a quiet mystique of honoring those who died for Ukraine. At such moments, you especially understand sharply that courage is not just words, but actions that inspire new generations”_, said Roman Khimyak, the director of the Department of Sports, Youth, and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
This year’s tournament, held under the auspices of the International Federation of Muay Thai (IFMA), combined sports with honoring the heroes who defend Ukraine. More than 300 athletes from 14 regions of Ukraine and Moldova participated in the competitions. Besides the traditional medals and cups, the winners received special awards from the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov.

Team place of Lviv Region — 4th among all regions of Ukraine.
