Lviv region won 16 awards at the Ukrainian U23 Freestyle Wrestling Championship.
The Ukrainian freestyle wrestling championship among men and women under 23 (U23) has concluded in Khmelnytskyi. The Lviv region team demonstrated a high level of preparation, winning a total of 16 awards of different ranks. The competition involved 215 athletes representing 20 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv. Lviv was represented by 28 athletes.
“Both the men’s and women’s teams from Lviv showed excellent results. The women took first place in the team standings, and the men came second among all regions, narrowly behind the representatives from Ivano-Frankivsk”, said Roman Khimyak, director of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
The winners and medalists among women were: gold: Albina Rilla (55 kg), Albina Klefas (62 kg), Manola Skobelska (68 kg). Silver: Oleksandra Malkova (59 kg), Lyubov Shvets (65 kg), Daryna Zayshla (72 kg), Maria Orlevych (76 kg). Bronze: Diana Rysova (50 kg), Kateryna Vovk (62 kg).
Among men, the medals were won by: gold: Yehor Horokh (92 kg). Silver: Vitaliy Honchar (79 kg), Oleksandr Mamrosh (86 kg). Bronze: Oleksii Shtoyko (65 kg), Nazar Velinskyi (65 kg), Ivan Zalisko (74 kg), Pavlo Vaskovskyi (86 kg).
