From January 14th to 21st, the Lviv region warmly welcomed participants of the national cross-country skiing championship, which took place at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center in Yavoriv village. The event gathered more than 70 athletes from eight regions of the country and the capital, competing in various disciplines, including sprint races and relays.
The National Committee of Sports for the Disabled of Ukraine, the event organizer, recorded impressive results that contributed to the formation of national teams for future international competitions.
Participants from Kyiv dominated the overall team standings, securing first place, while two teams from the Sumy region clinched second and third places respectively. The diversity of winners in individual races was notable, specifically Anastasia Nikon and Dmytro Dragun, who both won gold in the sprint race and the classical race.
The Department of Youth and Sports of Lviv Region actively supports such events, developing the sports infrastructure and attracting international competitions to the region.
