In 2025, the most active athletes in Lviv were from water polo, handball, cycling (track), luge, shooting, fencing, football, rowing, modern pentathlon, rugby league, cheerleading, karate, arm wrestling, sports acrobatics, chess, futsal, athletics, and freestyle wrestling.
The leading sports institutions in the region include:
