The Lviv region claimed victory at the Ukrainian Masters Weightlifting Championship, which concluded in Lutsk on 11 April. The team emerged as the undisputed leader, securing first place in the team standings.
The winners in their respective weight and age categories were: Mariya Stasyn (under 35 years) and Oksana Asanova (under 45 years); in the under 88 kg category in the under 35 age group — Ihor Yarushivskyi. The 82-year-old from Stryi, Mykhailo Vasyliv, became the absolute champion in the 80+ age group, setting 9 Ukrainian records.
In the under 65 age group, Mykhailo Burkov from Stryi became the champion, setting 6 Ukrainian records. Despite a severe injury, Serhiy Bratko won in his category in the under 50 age group. In the under 45 age group, in the under 65 kg category, Roman Koromets from Velykyi Liubin became the champion, setting 6 Ukrainian records. Lviv resident Yuriy Martynyk triumphed in the 35-40 age group.
Pavlo Danylenko became the silver medallist, taking 2nd place in the under 79 kg category in the under 45 age group. In a tense competition, Rostyslav Franeckyi secured 3rd place in the 35-40 age group in the under 110 kg category. The team was coached by Serhiy Bratko, Oleksandr Korchynskyi, Tetyana Malyavska, and senior coach Vasyl Martyniuk.
