The ‘Pokrova AMP’ Team Becomes the Champion of Ukraine in Amputee Football

The club from Lviv ‘Pokrova AMP’ achieved victory in the Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship.

The amputee football club from Lviv, founded by the Salesian fathers of St. John Bosco, triumphed in the finals at the V.M. Bannikov Educational and Training Complex of the Football Federation of Ukraine in Kyiv. The team consists of veterans and civilians with amputations or limb function impairments. All season matches were held under the slogan: “Together on the front line. Together on the field”.

‘Pokrova AMP’ finished the season as the leader of the Super League, winning all previous matches. This victory secures the team’s participation in the Champions League of the European Amputee Football Federation — it will be the first Ukrainian team to participate in this tournament.

Anton Nikulin, director of the Lviv City Council sports office, congratulated the team: “Congratulations to ‘Pokrova AMP’ on the Ukrainian championship… I would like to remind you that at the beginning of the creation of this unique team, the city supported the team – we purchased sports uniforms and equipment for the players’ training.”
