The Lviv e-sports team “Snufkink” took second place at the Ukrainian Cybersecurity Championship.
The first Ukrainian championship in technological sports in the CTF discipline took place in Kyiv on September 6-7. The competition gathered 33 teams from all regions of the country and took place at the Ukrainian cyber range Unit Range, a modern technological platform for cybersecurity training and competitions.
“The CTF (Capture the Flag) discipline translates to ‘capture the flag.’ These are cybersecurity competitions in which participants solve tasks to find hidden ‘flags’ (secret codes) to score points,” says Roman Khimyak, the director of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv OVA.
The winners and prize-winners are: “skif0perator” (AR Crimea), “Snufkink” (Lviv region), “ByteMe” (Kyiv). The student team “Snufkink” consists of students from the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” from the Department of Information Security.
Based on the results of the championship, a national cybersecurity team of Ukraine will be formed, which will represent the country at the European Cybersecurity Challenge in October 2025.
