Today, December 10, a charity run “Sport unites” took place in Stryi Park in Lviv, the purpose of which is to raise funds for the rehabilitation center “NextStep Ukraine”.
“NextStep Ukraine” is a neurorehabilitation center for people with injuries of the central nervous system, in particular, of the brain and spinal cord. The center has been operating since 2018 in the city of Irpin, Kyiv region, and the opening of the center in Lviv is planned by the end of 2023. Rehabilitation at the center is completely free.
Among the more than 200 registered participants of the race, there is a significant number of servicemen and cadets from the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny.
Separately, the program of the event included the “Mile of Invincibility”, in which war veterans who are undergoing or have undergone rehabilitation at the Superhumans Center, Unbroken, NextStep Ukraine, DNP “Center for Complex Rehabilitation “Halychyna” and other centers took part. They started the race, followed by all the participants who also ran, then by the participants who covered the race by Nordic walking, and at the end by the children.
The event was supported by the head of the Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi and the TV presenter of 1+1 and the United Telethon, the ambassador of the regional program “League of the Invincibles” Marichka Padalko, and the head of the youth and sports department of LOVA Roman Khimyak took part in the race.
“Veterans, cadets, children, everyone willing: about two hundred people started this morning with a run in Stryi Park in Lviv to raise funds for the treatment and rehabilitation of our soldiers at the NextStep Ukraine center.” It is a great joy and motivation for all of us that veterans recovering at the Superhumans Center, Unbroken, NextStep Ukraine and the Complex Rehabilitation Center “Halychyna” ran the “Mile of Unbreakability” today. Thank you to our youth and sports department and all partners who support the “League of the Invincibles” project, for the fact that the charity run “Sport Unites” truly united us today in the company of the bravest people of our country,” said Maksym Kozytskyi.
“I’m glad that the project, which was started in August (“League of the Invincibles” – author), did not remain just a presentation, but really exists and is alive. Sports unites us and helps us survive difficult times. In the period of difficult trials, sport supports boys and girls in returning to life after serious injuries.
