The European Arm Wrestling Championship took place in Romania, where athletes from the Lviv region won 29 medals.
The competition was held in Cluj-Napoca from May 30 to June 9, gathering 1106 participants from 30 countries. The Ukrainian national team included 29 athletes from the Lviv region, who placed third in the overall team standings.
Among the juniors U15, Anna Irodenko and Ivan Dzyailo each won two gold medals. In the U18 junior category, Karolina Zinchuk also claimed two gold awards. Veterans and para-athletes also showed high results, including Roman Rudnytskyi and Pavlo Panasenko, who won gold medals.
“This is an extraordinary result that confirms the high level of the Lviv arm wrestling school,” said Bohdan Ivanytskyi, the president of the Lviv Arm Wrestling Federation. Main referee Artur Oderov confirmed his high professional level by passing the Senior international qualification exam.
