
Parafencers from Lviv region won medals at the World Cup in Italy.
From February 19 to 22, the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup for people with musculoskeletal disorders is taking place in Pisa, Italy. The competition involves 135 athletes from 17 countries. Ukraine is represented by 14 athletes and 4 coaches, including two fencers from Lviv region — Natalia Morkvych and Andriy Demchuk.
Andriy Demchuk won a gold medal in the sabre competition (class A), while Natalia Morkvych took third place in the foil competition (class B). Both athletes represent the Lviv Regional Center ‘Invasport’. Natalia’s coach is Svitlana Kolesnikova, and Andriy’s coach is Viktor Nikulin.
“Congratulations on a great performance”, said Roman Khymyak, the director of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
