The final competitions of the regional stage of the ‘Shoulder to Shoulder National School Leagues’ project in basketball took place in Lviv.
At the ‘Halychyna’ Sports Palace on May 12-13, 8 teams from all districts of Lviv region and Lviv competed. Participants represented various educational institutions that won in the previous stages. Among them were the General Secondary School 1-3 levels No. 1 named after Hero of Ukraine Taras Matviiv from Zhydachiv, Sambir Lyceum named after Andrii Chaikovskyi, and others.
The winners were: 1st place – School No. 1 of the Lviv City Council, 2nd place – Sambir Lyceum named after Andrii Chaikovskyi, 3rd place – Zolochiv General Secondary Education Institution I-III levels No. 1 of Zolochiv MW.
‘The winners of the regional stage of the school leagues will later compete at the national stage of the project. Let me remind you that the regional finals have already been held in sports orienteering, volleyball, handball, and cheerleading, and now basketball players of different age groups are competing, with futsal, rugby, athletics, and chess competitions ahead,’ reminds Roman Khimyak, Head of the Department of Sports, Youth, and Tourism of Lviv OVA.
The national final of the school basketball leagues will take place in June in Ternopil.
