Lviv Fencers Won Silver at the Junior World Cup in Cairo

At the end of tense competitions in the junior fencing World Cup held in the capital of Egypt, Cairo, young talents from Ukraine, particularly female fencers from the Lviv region, clinched the prestigious second place. Athletes Alina Dmytruk and Anna Maksymenko, together with their colleagues from Kyiv – Oleksandra Romanova and Mira Yusef, demonstrated impressive skill on the international stage.

En route to the final, the team defeated representatives from Azerbaijan, Italy, and the USA, showcasing high expertise and tactical skills. However, in the final battle against the team from Hungary, the Ukrainian athletes narrowly lost with a score of 42:45.

Besides the team events, Alina Dmytruk made a noticeable impact in individual competitions, securing a high seventh place. She and Anna Maksymenko also represent the sports society "Dynamo", and Maks Hula, who also finished seventh in the junior competitions, studies at the local School of High Sports Mastery.

The management and coaching of the Ukrainian team were conducted by Ukraine’s esteemed coaches Andriy Orlykovskyi and Zoriana Semeryak, whose methodologies and approach once again proved their effectiveness on the international level.
