The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Italy from February 6 to 22.
This year’s competition will cover a vast territory of Northern Italy, making them one of the most geographically distributed in history. Representatives from 92 countries, as well as individual neutral athletes, will participate. Ukraine will be represented by 46 athletes in 11 sports, including biathlon and luge.
“Lviv region will be represented at the Olympics by eight athletes (7 in luge and 1 in biathlon), as well as four coaches in luge. This figure is the highest since Independence,” noted the director of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Roman Khimyak.
Among Lviv athletes in luge will compete Anton Dukach, Olena Smaga, Daniil Marcinovsky, Bohdan Babura, Nazarii Kachmar, Olena Stetskiv, and Oleksandra Mokh. In biathlon, Olena Horodna will compete. You can support our athletes during online broadcasts on the ‘Suspilne Sport’ channel.
