An additional 113 athletes from the Lviv region and 79 of their coaches will receive financial motivation from the regional budget for their sports achievements on the international stage. The total amount of payments is over 2.6 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi. Today, he presented monetary certificates to athletes who, in the second quarter of this year, became winners and prizewinners of European and World Championships:
- Anna Maksymenko – world and European champion in fencing among youth, as well as European champion among adults;
- Yuriy Kovalchuk – European and Ukrainian champion in modern pentathlon;
- Yelyzaveta Voznyuk – European junior champion, silver medalist of the World Junior Championship;
- Volodymyr Savchyn – world champion among youth in canoeing and kayaking;
- Alla Belinska – European champion among women in freestyle wrestling in the weight category up to 76 kg;
- Oleksandra Khomets – bronze medalist of the European Women’s Wrestling Championship in the weight category up to 55 kg;
- Coach Andriy Orlikovsky, who was recognized for preparing world and European championship winners and prizewinners in fencing;
- Coach Andriy Kovalchuk, for preparing winners and prizewinners of world, European, and Ukrainian championships in modern pentathlon;
- Coach Zoryana Semeryak, who was recognized for preparing world and European championship winners and prizewinners in fencing.
Since the beginning of the year, financial motivation from the regional budget has already been provided to 163 athletes and 118 coaches, amounting to over 4.2 million hryvnias.
“Thank you to our athletes, their coaches, and loved ones for their endurance, hard work, and brilliant results at the championships of Ukraine, Europe, and the world. We live in a time when your victories mean more than medals of the highest rank. This is an answer to the whole planet: we have not broken. We are holding strong, we are fighting, we will endure. Together,” emphasized the head of the Lviv region.
