
Athletes from Lviv region secured victories at the Ukrainian Championship in Combat Self-Defense ISO.
The Ukrainian Championship in martial arts combat self-defense ISO for adults and juniors in full contact and the Championship of the physical culture and sports society ‘Spartak’ in light and intensified contact took place from September 19 to 21 in Brovary. Athletes competed in types of martial arts: free boxing, K-1 combat, Thai boxing combat, mixed combat, wrestling, low combat, free combat.
A total of 550 participants from 19 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv competed for awards. During the championship, 522 matches were held on two rings, an octagon, and two tatami. Lviv was represented by 14 athletes who won 8 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals.
“The Ukrainian Championship was the qualifying stage for the European Championship in martial arts combat self-defense ISO, which will be held in 2026,” said Roman Khimyak, director of the Department of Sports, Youth, and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
