Athletes from the Lviv region became world champions in modern pentathlon.
The U19 World Modern Pentathlon Championship took place from August 19 to 23 in Lithuania, gathering 170 athletes from 31 countries. Oleh Rybak and Maksym Kovalchuk from Lviv, along with Oleksandr Chernishev from Kyiv region, became world champions in the team discipline. Oleh Rybak also won silver in individual competitions.

Maksym Kovalchuk represents the School of Higher Sports Excellence.
