The Ukrainian national team in kayaking and canoeing performed successfully at the Junior and U23 World Championships in Portugal.
Our athletes won 7 medals and took 9th place in the overall standings. Among the prize winners are athletes from Lviv.
Volodymyr Savchyn, a graduate of the ‘Vesl’aryk’ sports school, became the world champion in the 500m canoe-four. He also won bronze in the canoe-double along with Taras Kuzyk.
Another award for Lviv region was brought by Yelyzaveta Vozniuk. She became a silver medalist in the junior 200m canoe-single. She also received silver in the 500m canoe-four.
