
Vladyslav Holiak, a trainee of the Lviv Professional College of Sport (KZ LOR “Lvivskyi fakhovyi koledzh sportu”), placed fifth in the world in the 1000-metre time trial on the track at the Junior World Championships, which took place in Heusden-Zolder (Belgium) from 19 to 23 August.
In the line-up of Ukraine’s junior national team at the 51st UCI Junior Track World Championships, two representatives of the Lviv college competed – Vladyslav Holiak and Oleh Smolynets.
In the 1000-metre event Holiak finished 5th, breaking into the top five strongest juniors in the world in this discipline. He also finished 16th in the individual 3000-metre pursuit.
The college’s other athlete, Oleh Smolynets, took 9th place in the elimination race.
The Lviv Professional College of Sport highlighted the work of coaches Mykola Zalyhin and Andrii Karhut, who are preparing young cyclists for international competitions.
