The European Armwrestling Championship ended these days in Moldova.
More than 900 athletes from 31 countries competed for awards here. As part of the national team of Ukraine, with the support of the youth and sports department of the Lviv OVA, 17 athletes from the Lviv Region competed for awards. They won a total of 12 medals at the competition. Of these, 4 medals were gold, 3 were silver and 5 were bronze.
Athletes among young people were the first to compete for awards. Myron Myga, a native of Starosambira, became the vice champion in the right hand wrestling in the weight category of 75 kg. Vadym Savenko won two awards in the 65 kg weight category: third place in both left and right hand wrestling. Bohdan Fabrika in the weight category of 75 kg won the third place in the right hand.
Among adult athletes, Mykola Burko became the European champion in the 65 kg weight category in right-handed wrestling. He also won third place in left-handed wrestling.
Anna Kushnir from Rava-Ruska had no equal in the struggle among athletes with disabilities. She became the first in both left-handed and right-handed wrestling. Pavlo Panasenko also became the champion in left-handed wrestling. Ivan Tovarnytskyi won the second place in the right-handed competition and the third place in the left-handed competition. Petro Donchak took second place in the right-handed competition.
It should be noted that the Lviv Oblast team was also represented by coaches Bohdan Ivanytskyi and Ihor Ivanytskyi, judge Artur Oderov. In general, the national team of Ukraine won the third overall team place.
