Knight fights, pickleball and inclusive sambo: how the festival of adaptive sports took place in Lviv Oblast
The IRON WARRIORS Sport Fest, a sports festival for veterans, was held recently at the sports complex of the Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Boberskyi.
It was organised as part of the international forum “Veterans – the Way Home”, which was held in Lviv on 26-28 November.
The sports festival featured open training sessions in petanque and boccia, pickleball, sitting volleyball, amp football, streetball and wheelchair basketball, inclusive sambo and jiu-jitsu, as well as jousting.
“I am grateful to the organising team for the opportunity to become part of the forum and join the IRON WARRIORS SPORT HUB, as well as share our experience within the framework of the League of the Unconquered sports opportunities for military and veterans project,” the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Regional State Administration said.
