A traditional basketball tournament in memory of Yaroslav Pasternak will take place in the Lviv region.
The event will be held from September 19-21 at the Lviv Regional Youth Sports School, located at 8 Ulas Samchuk Street. Teams of boys born in 2013 and younger will compete for awards: Lviv Regional Youth Sports School, Drohobych Youth Sports School, Youth Sports School-7-Record (Kharkiv), Sergiy Lishchuk Basketball Academy (Rivne).
Yaroslav Pasternak was a journalist with ‘Vysoky Zamok’, working at the publication from 1991 to 2003. He wrote on a variety of topics, including sports. He covered competitions and matches across different sports, and wrote about stars in the field and youth sports.
The tournament in honor of the journalist has been organized for the 22nd consecutive time by his colleague Zinoviy Kursa. He was the senior coach of the Lviv Regional Youth Sports School, whose trainees Yaroslav Pasternak often wrote about.
