Unique veterans competition held in Lviv region
Injuries and wounds are a great challenge, but not a verdict. Unique for Ukraine, the veterans’ competition – the V Warriors Cup in archery has concluded in the Lviv region.
More than 50 veterans from various regions of our country participated. This is the second kind of sport in the new competition season – prior to this, the defenders tested their skills in wheelchair basketball.
Congratulations to the winners and medalists – diligent training, discipline, and character brought great results! Congratulations to all competition participants, you have achieved the most important victory – over yourselves and circumstances.
Founders of the Warriors Cup
- The Warriors Cup was founded by those who have themselves walked the path of recovery – ATO/OOS veterans, among them champions and medalists of the Invictus Games: Dmytro Sydoruk, Pavlo Luchkiv, Roman Panchenko, Serhiy Shymchak.
- Sadly, the ideological inspirer of these competitions – Dmytro Sydoruk – is no longer with us. In 2022, he perished defending Ukraine at the frontline. Forever in our hearts!
The Youth and Sports Administration of the Lviv Regional State Administration, under the Invictus League program, expanded the Warriors Cup to six sports.
Supporting Veterans
“Invictus League” is one of the directions of the Support Concept for the Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine, developed by the Lviv Regional State Administration. We continue to develop infrastructure for rehabilitation through sports. In the near future, a unique national-level space for physical and psychological rehabilitation will begin operating in our region, along with an inclusive archery hall.
