Lviv region hosted the Ukrainian road cycling championship “Tour de Lviv Region. Junior Edition”. The competition took place in Zhovkva on 19-21 July.
The most skilful were determined among boys, girls, junior boys and junior girls in the following disciplines: the MIX team race, the doubles race, and the second and final round of the Criterium race.
More than 110 participants from 18 teams from Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Ternopil regions and Kyiv took part in the race.

Boys’ 15 km doubles race:
🥇1st place – Oleh Smolynets, Andrii Mechnikov
🥈2nd place – Maksym Shcherbatskyi, Vladyslav Holiak
🥉3rd place – Yaroslav Besaha, Artur Stetsiv
Girls’ 15 km doubles race:
🥈2 place – Anastasiia Dodyk, Anastasiia Saturova
MIX team race:

“The competition also honoured the honour of Andrii Kutsenko, a cyclist from Lviv region who died in the war. The 35-year-old resident of Zhovkva represented Lviv region in the national track cycling team for ten years (2006-2016). At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he returned from Italy, where he lived with his family, and stood up to defend his homeland. In early July, Andriy was killed in his last battle as a member of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade “Magura”,” said Roman Khimyak, Head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
