In the Lviv region, veterans were ceremoniously welcomed as they returned from the USA with numerous medals, becoming a source of pride for the entire country. Fifteen Ukrainian veteran athletes participated in the Marine Corps & Air Force Trials 2026, bringing home 43 awards, including 27 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze medals. These competitions serve as an internal selection in the USA for forming a team for the Warrior Games, and this time Ukrainian and British veterans were also invited to participate. The Ukrainian team performed very strongly.
Our veteran athletes competed in adaptive disciplines such as swimming, athletics, powerlifting, discus throw, shot put, cycling, shooting, rowing, archery, as well as wheelchair basketball and rugby, and sitting volleyball. Warrior-athletes, thank you for what you have done for our country on the front lines, for your resilience and strength. These 43 medals are a symbol of your endurance, which the world sees and respects. We are proud of you!
This year, many large-scale sporting events for veterans are planned in the Lviv region as part of the “Invincible League” project. Registration is currently underway for the Warrior Cup in indoor archery. Details can be found on the official Facebook page.
