Serhiy is a resident of the village. Voronezh, Shostyna district, Sumy region. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked at a local company manufacturing frames and beehives for beekeepers.
He went to war as a volunteer. In March of this year, he was wounded near Bakhmut. Due to the swamps, it was not possible to evacuate him in time. Lost a leg.
After the injury – long-term treatment and rehabilitation in Dnipro, Kyiv and Chernivtsi region. At the Superhumans Center in the Lviv region, Sergiyev has already had a prosthesis made. Now the man is learning to live with a new leg. He is preparing to try himself in football.
A veteran is aware of the many retraining opportunities available to military personnel today. He often thinks about whether he would be able to find himself in IT, since 15 years ago he received an incomplete higher education in the specialty “Information Technologies”.
Always positive, the veteran does not lose his optimism and charges the people around him with his smile.
As noted by the head of the Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi, so that Serhiy and his brothers and sisters, who became disabled as a result of the war, had conditions in the Lviv region not only for treatment, but also for physical and mental rehabilitation and active leisure, the “League of the Invincibles” project was launched.
“Within the scope of the project, sports grounds in the region are being improved and new ones are being created – so that it is convenient for people with disabilities to train on them. Veterans can engage in adapted sports, participate in regional, All-Ukrainian and international competitions. We will also create a “Card of the Invincible”, which will be a pass for veterans to partner private institutions of a sports profile,” said the head of the region.
It should be noted that the “League of the Invincibles” is one of the directions of the Concept of support for Defenders of Ukraine, which we developed in Lviv OVA.
