The final of the Youth Sports Games of the Lviv region took place on Saturday, October 28, in Pustomyty.
8 teams that previously became champions of zonal competitions competed for awards here. Winners were determined in 8 sports: mini-football, chess, table tennis, checkers, arm sports, tug-of-war, and kettlebell sports. At the qualifying stage, let’s recall, Sambir region had the largest representation – 8 teams, mainly from the mountainous part of the district.
The competition was organized by the Lviv Regional Organization of the FST “Kolos” together with the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Oblast.
“All in all, the third Youth Sports Games of Lviv Oblast reached about four thousand young people from 25 communities. This is a record number of participants. Every year, this competition format becomes more popular. Another project – School Games – will start soon in Lviv region, and it is quite possible that their final part will take place in the format of youth games, which we started a few years ago,” explains the head of the youth and sports department of Lviv OVA Roman Khim’yak.
According to the results in all types of the program, Mykolaiv community was the winner. It is here, as the results of this year’s games show, that the most athletic young people live. In second place are the hosts of the final part of the competition, young athletes from Pustomytivska hromada. The bronze of the competition went to the youth of the Yavoriv community.
“The opponents were very good. Very strong guys. But I was stronger. Worked for a very long time, went to it for a very long time. Years of training and finally took first place in the region,” shares Ihor Sytinsky from the Dobromyl community, who won in arm sports.
