
National Ground Forces Academy Achieves Victory at ‘Games of the Brave’
The ‘Games of the Brave’ took place in Staryi Sambir on April 26 and gathered 10 teams from military formations, with over 250 participants. These competitions were organized for the third time. The strongest were determined in seven sports, including mini-football, tug of war, chess, checkers, arm wrestling, kettlebell lifting, and table tennis.
Significance of the Competition
The ‘Games of the Brave’ are not just sports competitions. It is a project born during the great war, with participants from military formations and institutions of Lviv region. Therefore, every start, every victory here holds a special meaning: to remember those who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine, to support those who fight today, to unite everyone who stands daily for our freedom,\” said the head of Lviv Regional State Administration’s Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism Roman Khimyak.

Overall team standings:
- 🥇Winner – National Ground Forces Academy named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi (representative – Colonel Serhii Romanchuk)
- 🥈Silver prize – Lviv State University of Life Safety (representative – Colonel of civil protection service Andrii Petrenko)
- 🥉Bronze prize – International Center for Peacekeeping and Security (delegation leader – Lieutenant Colonel Serhii Horbachov)
It is worth noting the character of the NGU team, which was only a step away from prize positions. Brilliant performances were also given by representatives of the 703 SB, MCSS, and KhPI in individual competitive disciplines.
