
The Ukrainian Judo Championship took place in Vinnytsia, where Olha Tsimko claimed victory.
On September 11–12, the Ukrainian Judo Championship was held in Vinnytsia, gathering around 300 participants from all over the country. Athletes competed in various weight categories. Olha Tsimko from Lviv region won the gold medal in the under 70 kg weight category for the second consecutive time, defeating Mariya Ritska from Sumy region in the final.
The Lviv region team was represented by 13 men and 9 women who also competed valiantly for awards. The championship included the first-ever open adaptive judo tournament for the prizes of the Judo Federation of Ukraine, which was an important step in the development of inclusive sports.
“Olha Tsimko is a graduate of the Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Bobersky and a representative of the School of Higher Sportsmanship. Her coach is Vladyslav Dreboth,” said Roman Khymyak, the director of the Department of Sport, Youth, and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
