On Sunday, September 24, the traditional annual marathon “Lviv Sotka” will take place.
It is organized by the public organization “Lviv Bicycle Club” with the support of the Department of Youth and Sports of Lviv Oblast. This year, more than four hundred cyclists will take part in the race.
“This marathon has already become a good autumn tradition for hundreds of supporters of cycling in Ukraine. Among those registered are representatives of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, etc. The number of participants is limited due to security considerations, however, we understand that if it were not for the war, Lviv Sotka would even gather cyclists from European countries,” says the head of the youth and sports department of Lviv OVA Roman Khimyak.
Race participants will have the opportunity not only to test their strength on a bicycle, but also to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the funds from the starting fees will be transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For the second year in a row, one of the key goals of this bicycle marathon is to raise funds to support the military.
Cyclists will be accompanied by police officers and emergency medical personnel on the route. In connection with the marathon, traffic will be limited on the route. Details are on the map (in the photo gallery below).
