The stage of the World Cup in cross-country skiing and biathlon is underway in the Finnish city of Vuokatti. Today Vasyl Kravchuk, a native of Skolivshchyna, took second place in the 12.5 km biathlon.
As told by the youth and sports department of Lviv OVA, Vasyl Kravchuk has been involved in physical activity since childhood, but due to an accident he ended up in a wheelchair and switched to sports for people with disabilities. Vasyl is mastering biathlon at the Lviv Regional Sports Center for People with Disabilities “Invasport”.
Among Vasyl’s achievements are the gold of the Paralympic Games in Beijing, medals of the European and world championships. He is a master of sports of Ukraine of international class.
Another representative of the Lviv region, Pavlo Bal, also performs at the competition. The stage of the World Cup will last until December 19, so the athletes will still have chances for medals.
