The multi-sport competition HART has concluded in Kyiv, where patrol officer Stepan Vasylenko became a contender for the national veterans’ team.
HART is the largest adaptive sports event for veterans and veteran women in Ukraine. Over 300 participants from different regions of the country tested their skills in nine adaptive sports disciplines. Among them were wheelchair basketball and rugby, sitting volleyball, archery, rowing on a simulator, laser-run, powerlifting, cycling, and swimming.
Lviv Tactical Response Unit inspector Stepan Vasylenko also participated in these competitions. Stepan took 1st place in the laser-run discipline, won 3rd place as a team in volleyball, and ranked among the top 16 archers.
This year, the competition has received national selection status for the Marine Corps & Air Force Trials, which will take place in the USA in 2026. Out of 45 HART winners, the selection committee will choose 15 participants to form the national team. Ahead for Stepan are the selection stages, and we are already celebrating his accomplishments. Keep it up and onward!
